CJT FAMILY PTY LTD (ABN 24 670 099 573) (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates WorkForce Marketplace, a marketplace where Australian businesses and subcontractors find, hire, and pay each other. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect
Account, business and profile information
- Email address and password; your role (posting work, finding work, or both);
- ABN, registered business name, trading name, business type (checked against the Australian Business Register);
- Contact name, phone number and email;
- Profile photo, bio, examples of past work (including images);
- Sector, trade/role, specialisations, experience, team size, availability, work locations and preferences, and rates.
Licences, certifications and insurance
- Licence and insurance details (type, number, issuer, class, coverage, expiry); and
- copies of the documents themselves (e.g. licence cards, certificates of currency) when you upload them for verification. These are reviewed manually by our team (section 4) and are not shown to other users (section 5).
Jobs and transactions
- Jobs you post, applications and quotes you make, milestones, invoices, job notes and progress photos, and job history;
- Payment records — amounts, dates, fees, payout status. Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number. If you receive payments, Stripe may collect identity information from you (such as ID documents and bank details) to meet its legal obligations.
Messages, reviews and disputes
- Messages you send on the platform (all messaging is tied to a job);
- Reviews you give and receive after completed jobs;
- Dispute records, including what both parties submit.
Collected automatically
- Device and browser data, IP address, and usage data via cookies and similar tools (section 8).
2. Message screening
To keep the marketplace safe and to keep transactions on-platform, messages are automatically screened and filtered. Before you are hired for (or hire someone for) a job, our systems may limit message volume and remove or block phone numbers, email addresses, and links. Messages are stored and may be reviewed for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcing our Terms. By using the messaging feature you consent to this.
3. How we collect it
Directly from you; automatically as you use the platform; from the Australian Business Register (ABN checks); and from Stripe (payment and payout status).
4. Why we collect it
- Run your account and profile, and match you with jobs or workers;
- Review the credential documents you upload. A member of our team manually reviews the licence, certification and insurance documents you submit, and records the outcome against your profile. For licences and registrations, we also check the details against the relevant Australian regulator’s public register (see section 6) — see our Terms for what “Verified” does and does not mean;
- Process payments, platform fees and invoices through Stripe;
- Operate messaging (including the screening in section 2), reviews, and dispute facilitation;
- Detect and prevent fraud, circumvention, and unsafe conduct;
- Improve the platform; send marketing where you’ve opted in (section 7);
- Meet legal obligations (tax, records, notifiable data breaches).
5. What other users can see
- Visible on your profile: your business/trading name, trade/role and specialisations, bio, photo, work examples, service areas, reviews, verification status, and rates (only if you choose to display them).
- Not visible until you’re engaged on a job together: your phone number and email address. Keeping these private means you decide who can contact you directly — you won’t get cold calls, texts or emails from people you haven’t agreed to work with. They’re shared with the other party once you’re working together on a job.
- Your credentials appear on your profile as: the type of licence, certification or insurance, the state or area it applies to, its verification status, and — for insurance — the amount of cover. Licence numbers and policy numbers are never shown to other users, and neither are the documents themselves.
6. When we disclose it
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it with:
- Stripe — to process payments and payouts (Stripe has its own privacy policy and legal obligations);
- Service providers under confidentiality obligations — currently Bubble (hosting the platform and sending our emails), Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and map and location lookup), Twilio (sending SMS notifications to your mobile number), Meta (advertising and measurement across our website and platform), and SelectPDF (generating your quote and invoice PDFs);
- the Australian Business Register — to validate ABNs;
- Australian licensing regulators (for example NSW Fair Trading, the Victorian Building Authority, or the QBCC) — when we check a licence number you have given us against their public register;
- other users — only what section 5 describes;
- professional advisers and authorities or others where required or permitted by law.
7. Direct marketing
Only if you’ve opted in; every message has an unsubscribe; opt out any time. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
8. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar tools to run the site, remember you, and measure how the platform is used. These include Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, and the Meta Pixel. We use these differently on each part of the Service:
- On our website (workforcemarketplace.au), the Meta Pixel runs across the site so we can measure how our advertising performs and show relevant ads to people who have visited us.
- On our platform (workforcemarketplace.com.au), we record a single event when you create an account, so we can tell which advertising led to sign-ups. We do not run advertising tracking anywhere else on the platform — not on your profile, your credentials, your messages, your jobs, or your payments.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage how Meta uses your data through your Meta ad preferences. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
9. Overseas disclosure
Some providers (including Bubble, Google, Meta, Stripe, Twilio and SelectPDF) store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
10. Security and retention
- We take reasonable steps to protect your information — access controls, and platform privacy rules that restrict who can see sensitive fields (contact details, ABN, licence and policy numbers).
- Verification documents are stored securely and are not visible to other users. We keep the documents you submit for as long as your account is active, so there is a record of what was checked and when. If you close your account, we delete them within 90 days.
- Transaction and tax records are kept for at least 7 years as required by law, even after account closure.
- If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we act under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, notifying affected users and the OAIC where required.
11. Access, correction and deletion
Ask for a copy of your information, corrections, or deletion of your account data by emailing info@workforcemarketplace.com.au. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. Some records must be kept by law (section 10) even after deletion.
12. Complaints
Contact info@workforcemarketplace.com.au first — we’ll work to resolve it. If unsatisfied, complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
13. Changes
We’ll post updates here and change the “last updated” date; for significant changes we’ll notify you by email or in-app.
